In order to survive our bodies require proper nourishment with the basics of food and water. In order to thrive we must provide our cells with the right food containing nutrients required by the body to function properly.

Just as a high performance sports car requires high octane, premium fuel to ensure it runs at its highest level, we also require high octane, premium food to ensure optimal health.
Just like the sports car can still operate on low octane fuel, you can also stay alive eating low octane foods. However, low octane fuel does not enhance performance and many times can cause malfunctioning. In the body improper fuel (food) can contribute to a host of disease processes like diabetes, heart disease, mood disorders, fatigue, digestive dysfunction…the list goes on and on.
Low octane foods include fast foods and processed foods containing high amounts of:
- Sugar (high fructose corn syrup, glucose, sucrose, glucose)
- Trans fats and partially hydrogenated oils
- Enriched flours
- Artificial sweeteners (aspartame, saccharin, sucralose)
- Other ingredients you don’t recognize
So what should we eat to maintain optimal health and keep our body’s engine running smoothly?
High-octane fuel for the body is real, whole food with a balance of:
- Bright colored vegetables and fruits (organic when possible)
- Nuts and seeds
- Beans and legumes
- Whole grains
- Lean protein
- Good fats (olive oil, coconut oil, avocado, fish, nuts, seeds)
- Filtered water
